Thought I'd have a go myself so I bought this ancient GN Runmaker from Ebay today for £5. Looked in poor condition, see pics:
https://photos.app.goo.gl/VF1k4SvkHuFBZo1A6Decided I would only strip the cloth from the playing surface and clean up the rest, keeping original stickers. The cloth cover cleaned really well by gently scraping with a Stanley knife
The bat is in great condition underneath :perfect face, no cracks, perfect toe. There are 8-10 well defined grains. Only issue is that the grains are curvy towards the toe, plus a couple of knots. It's cleaned up really well. I might try it at the nets this week. It seems to ping well. See pics below of during and after restoration:
