This has just come out, and could get very messy I think.
'PCA backs overseas player increase'

Kolpak: PCA would back two overseas players per county post-Brexit - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/51387075
What I don't get is the following, it says that.... "Following Brexit, the England and Wales Cricket Board has advised counties that Kolpak registrations will be terminated at the end of the 2020 season."
Surely that makes Amla and Philanders 2yr deals a bit crazy??
I think that the situation - as with everything tied into Brexit - is far from clear cut as to what all happen post 2020. We may find ourselves remaining in alignment with EU freedom of movement laws, in which case the Kolpak situation could continue or we may not in which case it won't. One can understand the uncertainty this creates.
The question as to what happens with those under contacts that go beyond 2020 really depends on what is in those contracts. It's not uncommon to include a break clause. Practically speaking allowing 2 overseas in the CC would probably be the best of all parties to create certainty
