Lots of muddled thinking going on right now.

Yes.  Its clear that Buttler is not a strong captain, and Mott not a leader as coach.  The former might work with a strong leader like McCullum, the latter with a vocal captain like Morgan, but not as a pair.  You cannot blame either man for the fact that the bowling stocks are a tad thin, especially when Wood is moth balled for the red ball game; it is an odd quirk of the length that red ball quicks bowl in the UK that we don't seem to get the same cross pollination between white and red ball games as some of the other big sides.  But the lack of clear messages, the way some players are given endless opportunities despite never really performing, and the downright strange manipulation of the batting order...all those are on the leadership team.

Selection is always a good window into the health of a side and it's been all over the place all year. Tactical moves and rest/rotation is one thing but for a long time now you've got a strong sense that England don't have a clue what balance they want in their side or even vaguely who the best side is. Salt and Brook bailed them out last game but what on earth were they up to selecting 8 bowlers and also dropping Rehan?

A 'reset' is what you do when you are losing now? Why did no-one think of it before?

I'm so disappointed this series isn't on a sensible TV channel in the UK, this game sounds absolutely hilarious to watch.

Looks like Phil Salt has inked himself in at the top of the order for the WC, great to see him settle in and convert the good starts.

Yep, was on TNT 1 (Old BT Sport). Was a bonkers game with some outrageous hitting. Pitch was very flat and easy paced, but still some great  hitting on show.

That WI bowling wouldn't have looked out of place in club cricket, they were shocking. Not taking anything away from our batting performance though, it was ruthless and Salt played a blinder.

Baz has been made white ball coach as well... Going to be interesting to see how this plays out.

If you mean the upcoming series Vs Aus, think McCullum is taking over white ball coach in Jan (Trescothick running the ship until then). Will be interesting to see how Bazball in ODI and T20 goes next year....
