Going to blog it in a bit if you don't mind waiting but not going to far into it I dont want it to end up in MRT land.... it involves some maths and an involved testing technique.... I was looking for someone other then myself to test out the theory on will more then likely be someone from my club...

effectively it is a derivation of Moment of Inertia [MOI] but not entirely as bats are fairly comlpex shapes and swing speed differs for different shots...

I think I can create the feel of a bat fairly accuratley but I need to have the original to run the tests and calcs from to do this....

I think the 'right bat' is a 2 fold issue. First of all some bats just suit you so much more than other obviously your play dictates what type of bat you require with regards to weight and middle placing.

But on the other hand having a good knock with a new bat seems to set things off with it and then you get on with it much better than your previous bat.

I had this problem last season. I bought a Fusion Grade 1 to my specs but struggled to score to many runs with it. So one match I decided to give my net bat a go - Bulldog Basher (much cheaper) and I had a great knock with it. Used it again and it continued to feel much better than the fusion. Which I sold off in the end. Both bats were to the similar specs and same weight.

I upgraded to a Bulldog Pedigree and that feels grand. So like I said the 'right bat' is a mix of the correct equipment and that bit of luck!
