I need a new bag and I can't decide whether it's worth spending the extra cash and buying a high end bag with all of the extra pockets/compartments compared to a decent sized bag that had just one large compartment.
Kit I need to fit in my bag;
- 2/3 x Bats
- 1 x Pads
- 2 x Gloves
- Thigh guards + Abdo
- 2 x Spikes
- 1 x Helmet
- Clothing and the Extras (eg, balls, socks etc)
I've been looking at bags for a while now on the Internet as I've been waiting for the cricket shops to get their 2011 gear in stock and I've come up with a few I'm going to look at;
- Salix Pod One - 90cm long x 38cm high x 36cm wide(around £65)
- Slazenger Ultimate Size - 100cm x 40cm x 48cm(around £70)
- Ayrtek - around 95 x 30 x 45? (£65)
- GN Nitro - 90 x 30 x 45 cms(around £50)
I chose these bags out as they are all stand up bags (as the team I play for in midweek have a small changing room) and that they offer good bat protection due to having seperate bat compartments which is my main criteria on purchasing the bag at the moment. Out of these I from looking at them via the Internet I prefer the Salix bag due to it being very smart and not as big as the others.
However, I just don't know whether it's worth splashing an extra £30 on a high end bag or spend a lot less on a bag that just has one compartment inside the bag such as the Solitaire bag (around £25, 94cm x 35cm x 30cm)
Are the high end bags worth splashing the extra cash on? Do the extra compartments/pockets make it worth the money? Or should I save my money get the Solitaire bag and put my bats in covers within the bag?
Any help appreciated, cheers.
