Yes mate, I used a tape to balance the weight as the bat has a low middle.

Cricket in Romania? Whatever next! Lawn bowls in the Sudan perhaps?  :D

In all seriousness what's the setup like out there? Many teams/clubs? Locals playing or 'imports'? Good to see cricket being played all over the place...

Its quite incredible but there are is very decent cricket being played in Spain, France and Scandinavia.
There are many expats living abroad from Pakistan, India, England, SA, Oz who play regularly and would be able to turn over quite a few club sides. The Spanish national team has quite a few players who have played top club and first class cricket and gave the MCC a good working over last month.

Softcore though, no full frontal shots.

They all seem to be Pakistani's and Indians on both the Bulgarian and Romanian teams.

Now in Croatia cricket is played by a number of teams in their own competition and they are all of Croatian origin. Admittedly, many spent a large part of their life in Australia and speak with Aussie accents, but they are atleast Croatians by ancestry.

Also Russia used to have a cricket pedigree before the communists banned it after 1917:

Cricket has just got the official status as a sport in Romania. Incredibly though within two years there has been a lot of development.
You are right about lot of expats playing for Romanian team at the moment but the emphasis is to make the transition to at least 60% native Romanian nationals in coming 3 years. At present we have 3 -4 promising Romanian players and rest consists of various nationalities like UK , Australia, Srilanka, Pakistan and India.
There is a huge project of constructing an international level stadium  with flood lights in place and scheduled to finish in 2012 - 2013. There are around 10 clubs  and several others in pipeline.
Interested ones can go through the Cricket Romania website for more details:

Bulgaria on the other hand has done an exceptional work in the development of cricket over the past 5 years and now has a status of associate nations with ICC. They have lot of promising native Bulgarian nationals playing cricket and have an  National sports academy  to teach cricket.
This June they are going to participate in a twelve nations ICC tournament and top two teams from this tournament will qualify for the 2012 twenty twenty world cup in Srilanka.

It's an exciting time for all of the expats like us and we are proud of the fact that we represent a country and fully understand our responsibilities in this transition phase.

I've played in the Czech Republic, Germany, Slovenia, Croatia, Malta and off the Hungary this year - all if the tours have been great, and the standard has gone from pretty good (Munich CC, loads of expats) to not so good, but the best thing is that you really have to love cricket to play in these places and that attitude is very infectious!
