« on: March 05, 2011, 08:34:36 AM »

Hello,
I came across these on ebay and wondered if anyone knew about them or if they were decent?

Looks like a normal scuff to me

The first cricket box was used in 1874.  The first cricket helmet was introduced in 1974. So, it took 100 years for men to twig that their brains were also worth protecting.

I've got a couple, never had any problems with them! Maybe not as good as hammer sheets but still decent.

Maybe you got a bad one, or I've got a good one! Only got one on my bats, the other one isn't needed yet. Will be buying  hammer sheets next time, just because everyone else seems to think they're class! ;)

Hammer edge and poly-ugermaflip sheets are by far better quality than bat armour.
And even if they are slightly cheaper, we are talking about the best protection for a very expensive bat.
So the question I would have is, do you really want to save £2 and not protect your bat as well?  ???

They are ok but for just a little more you can get a superior anti scuff sheet, check out Mr Talisman he normally has a good line in Scuff sheets at good prices!!!

Aye, but being a student you've gotta try and save some cash somewhere! And considering it's my inside edge that takes the most battering, my scuff sheet is in near perfect condition...

Theres also a difference between cheaps branded scuff sheets which have cracked easily.

Local sports shop were selling branded @ £3 or helicopter scuff off the roll from Hunts for £5 worth the difference in my opinion.

Sorry Guys time was a factor when purchasing.
