Lower Grade Redbacks?
« on: March 07, 2011, 09:06:45 PM »

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience of the lower grade bats offer by Redback? Whenever topics are posted on this forum, its always the Limted Original or Premier Models. I emailed Gary yesterday morning regarding a Paradox Performance or Premium (Grade 2 or Grade 3) and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience of the lower grade bats?

Gary, if you get chance to read this before you have replied, there is an email in your account and once details are confirmed, the cash will be on its way.

So, any reviews on the lower grade bats folks?

The lower grade bats are sometime the Top grades with blemishes or pressing crack. Stuff like that, Gary described them as seconds

Yeah Gary emailed back shortly after posting this topic. Seems a steal at £115 for a performance, so just awaiting his reply to see what he has in stock.

Craig,

A couple of years ago I bought a LB Premium for a teammate.  Have only had a brief hit with it, and performance wise it was pretty good, but felt a little odd as I am not used to long blade.  Looks-wise it wasn't far off my Premier to be honest.  The fella that bought it isn't much of a batsman so I can't give too much more info.

Cheers

Thats excellent news, I am still awaiting to hear back from Gary to hear what he has got, but I am eager to get one. £115 is not bad for a Redback!

Pending the sale of my bulldog I'm considering getting one of these. Does anybody else have a review on them??

just an update on this if anyone considering, took a long time to arrive but worth it.bit frustrating to communicate with but if you have a month to spare these 'seconds' or performance redback are 100 per cent worth it.small pressing cracks, slight blemishes and one or two pin knots which really is nothing, ive got a lovely balanced 2lb 10oz bat paradox(ish) shape, decent grains, well finished.if you are happy facing tape edging and generally covering up a couple of light cracks(edges) you could have yourself a very nice bat for around 100.00.Gary is a nice bloke to deal with and it's def worth it. the bat might take a while to arrive thou!
all in all-recommended.

Indeed, I ordered a part made performance cleft for £65 and got a half-heartwood cleft with 15 straight grains and no blemishes. Not sure why it's a performance cleft.
