I think this is a little harsh on Prior, but I totally agree with the comments regarding Panesar. He is hopeless and when he gets hit for a boundary, even when it was a dodgy one, he goes into defensive mode, bowls far too short and lacks variation. People are saying "Oh Monty is learning", maybe he is, but I haven't seen it.

Did anyone hear Peter Moores this morning? He said Ian Bell is one for the future and has promise, implying that he is a young and inexperienced cricketer when infact he has played tons of matches in ODI's and Tests.

He was implying more the fact that he is only 26 and has many more years in the game, you can't say he hasn't got promise; in full flow, there is not a better sight than a Ian Bell innings witnessed a couple first hand, hits the ball so clean. His problem is converting to big scores nothing more he's technically fine, mentally not so that will come, he's too good a player not to be making runs consistently, the best is certainly yet to come.

Bell is still one of our best prospects and I still think he will improve. He is currently averaging about 42 I think and I believe that he could get that up to above 45.

I would love to see him do well as he clearly has promise and is a class player to watch. He is far too inconsistent to make it big just yet, I think a season out of international cricket, making tons of runs at domestic level will help his confidence and consistency big time.
