Applying a scuff sheet

Got a hammer edge ready to put on my new SS, but i'm unsure as to the best way to apply it without getting air bubbles etc. any tips?

Hard to describe but here goes:

Line it up without touching the blade (or no more than very lightly so it doesn't stick), then run a finger down from top to bottom right at the center of the sheet so that sticks down, from there you can do one side at a time pushing it out the way a section at a time so as to awoid air bubbles.

If that makes no sense I'll see if I can find a video of someone doing it.

ahh thats what i've done, it's slightly uneven, but there arent ant bubbles so i'm happy with it being my first attempt :)

I think it was one of the screaming cat videos on youtube that showed it being done that way.

I had the same question with my SS as I had never done it before. Go to YouTube and look up 'cricket bat maintenance', there is a video from Julian Millicom on how to do it. You can pull it up if bubbles appear, but make sure it doesn't fold on itself, as you will be in all sorts of trouble then. I would link it in but I'm on my phone.

I line mine up at the bottom of the blade, make sure that both edges are covered evenly then pull the backing cover towards the handle at an angle making sure it is tense so the scuff sheet is applied evenly without any air bubbles.

I find that by applying it when stood in a complete vaccuum I don't have problems with bubbles.
