England Vs India 1st Test
« on: December 11, 2008, 07:07:00 PM »

Great start by England but then some good bowling restricted us. The game appears to be in the balance at the moment! Im predicting a draw!  :(

Really pleased Strauss has made some runs as I know what a quality player he is  ;)
Although a shame that Shah isnt in the team, can see the need for two spinners though.

I think that shah should have played instead of Collingwood. It was unlucky how Colly was dismissed but I believe that Shah will do a better job in India.

Shah is very wristy and can play the ball around the ground anywhere. Thats exactly what you need in india?

Collingwood would be be behind Shah and Bopara in my books, the ability to play a career saving innings should not save the career, rather signal the end of it.

Agreed but the selectors love Collingwood and would never drop him! They always say "he is only one innings away fromsome form again". Yeah well whens that next innings! Sorry but Bopara or Shah should be given more chances!!!!  :P

A really good day of cricket today. Thought England bowled really well. Prior when he was batting though, I felt gave the strike to often back to the tailenders.

Hopefully both Colly and Straus can get hundreds and then our bowlers win us the game tomorrow or Monday.

Unfortunatley that is not to be!! Sehwags disregard for the bowlers really set  a good platform and Sachin just slaughtered the English. Who says Test Matches are dying?

The anticipation of him emerging from the pavilion, and his walk from the boundary to the centre, is almost surreal. The sound of a passionate Indian crowd all chanting "Sachin, Sachin" as they wait in anticipation, followed by the enormous roar when he emerges onto the field, is electrifying.

One hell of a test match. I hope we get more tests like this to revive the interest in the best form form of the game.....

It was like a Jond movie...both sides getting there share of ups and downs...

I really feel for KP. Not able to get a win under his belt even when he and his men have delivered witht he bat....bit the batsmen and bowlers need to come to the party....

I hope his luck improves, brfore Adidas have to start discounting their range of cricket equipment.

Sehvag.... he just rises to the occasion. He just opened up the match with some terriffic hitting . . .

Other thing worth noting was the termperament displayed by Yuvi... he did not let Freddie, Harmisson or other get to him and simply ignored everything they did or said.

Monty needs to get more variation into his bowling, was very predictable. Swann and Freddie bowled very well.

Andrew Staruss well done to join the elite gang of players who scored tons in botht he innings of a test match.

Hope the next test is equally exciting.
