We won the ashes

And that is why this England team will never be ranked number 1! They love to live in what they have achieved, not what they are going to achieve.

we have to believe even though it does look very bleak i keep the faith we have one of the best spinners in the world on a pitch that is turning square plus temmers on a pitch which seems up and down and tredwell is very accurate so you never know still need 200+ at least

We make 235 or more we will win. I just dont have that much faith in old Ravi, or Mr Trigger himself Luke Wright.
Bresnan can smash a few as could Swann. Dont really rate Tredwell with a bat, and then Tremlett will slog or go home. So theres a small chance.

What we now need is a dodgy umpire decision, so we can pretend that was the reason we didnt go through. ala England Vs Germany.

But this isnt a "golden generation" so they were never destined to win anything

or because we play to much cricket. Not fussed if we go out now or in the quarters, at least then they can have a proper rest.

I think 99 out of 100 people would rather win the ashes than the ODI World Cup, if we had the choice. A 4/5 month tour has made that choice for us.

Bopora's wicket is typical England. Gripped with fear. Not taking powerplay to disrupt opposition. Shame. Still not out of it, but need a miracle...

Funny how in the past Australia has basically managed both...
I dont see why we played such a long ODI against Australia, we would have been better off giving the players two weeks rest.
However I just dont like to see our players embaressing themselves like they have done in this tournament. Were a semi final team, who have the ability to win it. Just wish we had shown it.

Didn't know Australia have been overseas for 5 months - did I miss that?

Dont get me wrong, I want England to go through. I genuinly believe this side should go through. Im just embaressed at the consistancy of the side. No player has settled and made a decent score today, and were desperate for it.

They wont have seen much of Tredwell so there is that advantage, however the WI dont usually care who is bowling they want to smash them anyway.

don't rush to judgment.  it might be one of those pitches that youre not sure whats a good score until both sides bat.
