Agreed. I would say that the way Pakistan cricket was going before the world cup they weren't capable of Semi Final spot but they proved everyone wrong.

I think Hafeez wanted to finish off the things as soon he could which lead to his downfall.

I would in particular blame Misbah and Younis because they were suppose to rotate the strike and just like Tendulkar (on most occasions) they failed to do it and pressure mounted on other side.

I think time has come for young faces, the wicket was not good for fast bowlers but Wahab Raiz proved everyone wrong, he bowled impressively considering the fact he was poor throughout the tournament. So Pakistan future does look bright if they bring up new faces.

Shafiq, Umar Akmal and Wahab clearly have shown there worth in ODI side. Wahab just need more coaching and training with coaches and he will became a great fast bowler in future if he lives up with his hardwork.

Junaid Khan is another good fast bowler, I saw him live in summer when I went to NCA and this boy looked impressive, pace, swing etc everything was there.

So yes, Kamran, Younis, Misbah and Razzaq will be dropped and should be dropped. Hammad Azam is a name that comes to my mind right away when I think of replacement allrounder and he is perfect man to replace Razzaq.

might be worth getting Babar Azam in to the side early on, i know they dont have a problem with sticking youngsters in.

Babar Azam and Usman Salahuddin

These two players are future star, both are impressive at domestic scene.

But I feel both are a bit too young, they need more time in domestic arena.

For those who don't know Babar Azam is cousin of Akmals..

I think Pakistan lost primarliy because of Misbah. He didn't rotate the strike and he is capable of hitting big shots. Why he didn't hit those shots. What is the use of hitting later in the stage when game was almost lost.

Agreed. Very poor batting from him. I still can't figure out why the power play wasnt taken when razaq or afridi were batting. They deserved to lose because of the way they batted bowled and fielded

Might sound strange but did Misbah go slow as his nose was put out of place when Afridi was made captain for the WC?

I mean Afridi was an inspired choice, he galvanized the Pak side. Maybe Misbah was jealous of Afridi's success

Final is finally upon us!

India have a selection dilemma as Nehra has broken a digit on his right hand and has been ruled out. Who will replace him, the wildcard Sreesanth or the man of mystery R Ashwin. I hope its Ashwin as he's an unknown to SL and he would be suited to Mumbai's conditions.

Sri Lanka have their own problems with Mathews being ruled out with a thigh strain. It seems likely that Perrera will replace him. A bowling all rounder replacing a batting all rounder. Another dilemma is which spinner will partner Murali? Mendis and Herath have been tonked in India before, so the late inclusion Randiv may get the nod.

One man I'm looking forward to bat is Sehwag. Last time these sides meet in Mumbai, albeit the other ground, he dismantled SL. Could lighting strike twice?

Obvious to see Jeet is impartial.

Hundredth hundred for Sachin tomorrow.
Hope it's a close match with a nail-biting finish.
