Trescothick First Mongoose Hundred!!!
« on: March 27, 2011, 10:07:35 PM »

He hit 105 not out with his 'Goose today, in Somersets 7 wicket win over Worcestershire.

Yet to find pictures and not sure if he used the Mmi3

Will probably be a Gm anyway.

They don't use the cor3 they just use a labelled standard bat as has been shown many times on here.

Didnt the guy from GM on here (sorry forgotten his name) state that GM do not make bats for pro's to have other brands stickers on it?

Thought so, of course what is said and what happens can be two different things. For the MD (i think) to state something publicly i'd be enclined to believe him

Do you have proof that the bat he used yesterday is not a Mongoose bat?

Do you have proof Mongoose didn't just copy the shape of his favourite GM. I seem to remember Tom mentioning they did this for other sponsored players.

I don't need proof because I'm not making up pointless conspiracy theories for which there is no evidence. People seem to obsess over this and I just can't see the point. It is as if because Mongoose do things a little differently they have to bear the brunt of this more than others.

While we are at it, I don't think the Reebok Zigtech bat used by MSD in the last match was made by Reebok... :D

It is definatley different to a normal cor3 as the handle from the picture looks a sh not cor3 length but they are probably made to his specs by whoever is making mongoose bats these days

I've had the pleasure of having a swing with all his bats for the season as he got them from the changing room for me and they are all 100% Mongoose bats supplied to him by Mongoose. I have to say that the 4 COR3 are all stunning bits of willow, I cannot exactly remember the MMI's but they were not bad willow wise.

I was talking to Tom about the shape he is using. He said that he got Tres' GM to copy and then was playing around with variants of the standard Cor3 profile to get him using one as close as possible to the standard one.
