The thing I like about Dhoni is that he has brains too. Is streetwise and a cool customer. Cricket is played between the ears too.

How about making Sreesanth and Harbhajan joint captains?

Dhoni is the calmest person I have ever seen on a cricket field. Absolutely nothing fazes him. I believe that his calm head really has a great impact on the dressing room and I doubt that the Indian team has any internal conflicts etc.

Just because it doesn't look good doesnt mean its bad technique, Dhoni watches the ball very closely and plays very late which is all that is required. Just has the unique ability to generate his power via the wrist which is unorthodox but extremely effective.

The reason Dhoni's technique looks odd as he has massive balls of steel and therefore can't play like normal people.

you mean he has to play around his balls, that must be a hinderance ...... also  does that mean he doesnt have to wear a box?

What about his weird swat technique? When the ball is down leg and he could sweep it, he decides to try and smash it directly behind him. For some reason, that really annoyed me, ahah.

nothing wrong with smacking the ball where there are no fielders. Isn't that the art of batting?

canners - he has a custom made pro box to wearhouse his giant rocks.

Too right Buzz! I'm not the biggest fan of Dhoni, but he certainly has the unique ability to beat the fielder from a large percentage of his scoring shots.
