From my vantage it seems unfair. I think the mods/admins need to clarify a bit why they were banned. Specially, if they intended to be sponsors once they learnt about the rules.

Is it different if the owners post about a brand or if a third party does. I remember not too long ago someone posted about Vindico Cricket which was a similar post although the owner did not get involved.

Until you or I pay for our usage of this forum, the admin team does not need to do anything we say.

Probably a sensible point to lock this one?

You and I Jon are the consumers for whom the advertising pound/dollar is at work. There is no free lunch as they say. So if I think Google is doing something wrong do I shut up and use something different as I don't "pay" for it.

All I can say then if that is your opinion that you are more likely to get a positive response by contacting the admins privately rather than saying it on here, which is universally never taken well by those in question.

Nothing works without consumers, but I think the admins will come up with the best decision

To be fair £15 a month is a small amount when you consider that 400 odd cricket bat fans read this forum.....

Just like to point out that Sailx arent advertising.

Me and Ben, off our own backs are trying to provide information on bat making process and add to the forums quality of information. If it's not wanted then have no problem not doing it.

As far as im aware, whilst there has been enquiries through myself no business has been made out of it. As i have said Salix's commitment to the shops means there would be no direct sales through the forum.

Your right, i cant think many examples of brands that have come onto the forum, paid sponsership, then failed to sell a few bats in the first month. I've only used this for the past year so i'm not sure about furthr in the past but it seems a decent move for new brands trying to get there products out there

There seems to be a belief that no one would ever come on the forum and be anything but 100% honest, in which case we can completely disband the Admin team who work for nothing anyway and leave you guys to it. Brands that pay to advertise and keep the forum going can lose sales to new brands who may not delivery what they promise and may not tell you the truth. I'm sure when the paying brands stop paying and the forum shuts it will be fine too, of course there might be people who have paid out a large sum for bats and not be happy with the result but then it won't matter as no one will help them or care without a forum.

If you disagree with the Admin team then feel free to ask, we are not a secret police state....

And as for Dan and Ben at Salix and Alex at GN I think this is a positive move as we all know these main stream brands and the info is very interesting and great to have a point of contact in the industry. We also have Edward at Unicorn which I think is a coup for the forum, we get to converse with a MD at a major sports brand and how many people would wish for this to stop?

Oh and we have Lord Buzz of Surrey who can talk us through his collection of Islands he owns.....
