Lost yesterday by 60ish runs. I got 39 off 40 and 2-19 off 5 at the end.

Playing for one of my mate's team yesterday against the top of the league team, knowing they needed to win to take the title. His team were second from bottom.

We scored 274 from 44.1 overs, with me facing a wide and a ball down leg that really should have been called a wide, before the other guy got out having a swing. Hardly worth putting my pads on for!

This is the sides biggest score of the season.

We then proceeded to bowl them out for 197 or so, with me taking 2-5 of 2. Spent a lot of time being involved in the field though, and it was a good win!

Played today, we scored 78 for 9 but as we had only 10 it was all out in 39.3 overs. Lost the toss and got put in on a very slow and sticky wicket with a very slow outfield, I came in 3rd ball of the match and was out in the 33rd. trying to pull a spinner which I inside edged onto my pad for 30  :( next top score was 12, would have been a nice 50 there if my bat had a middle and the outfield was quicker. In reply they were 18-0 off of 2 overs, we dragged it back to 25-5 (in effect 6 as they only had 10)  one of our bowlers took a hatrick, then at 30-5 their best bat nicked behind to me and walked towards square leg but then their umpire said not out so he walked back  >:( We were furious, if he was out we probably would have won the game, after a few words in the umpires ear he gave the same bat lbw but by then they were 73-6 and the game was over.
Really disappointed as the umpire said he didn't give it as it was their captain and he expected him to do the right thing  ???

I hate it when that happens Stevie, I've had about 3 or 4 caught behinds not given due to the batsmen not walking >:( - where's the Spirit of Cricket gone.

Same sort of game as you today mate. Sticky wicket, we won the toss and batted (?!) and they bowled us out for 69. I got one and then got caught by a blinder at silly cover... :(

Was batting 8 cause other people wanted a go, but the skipper and the other 2s player were batting 7 and 9 - too much gunnage too late, given it was 21-6 when I came in barely padded up :|

Kept well though, 2 byes (which weren't really wides but due to the low target the ump didn't call them wides...) and a good caught behind standing up. :)

Which was given, wooo! :D

They knocked it off 4 down over at 5.15 not ideal though...

A decent knock of 66 off 62 today in a nice win for the team. Caught a couple of skyers on the line over the weekend too which is always nice. Nice to get some runs again,

A great match last week which I forgot to post on...
It was the final match of the season and surprise, surprise it was raining. The match was reduced to 30 overs a side.
Our captain won the toss and for some bizarre reason decided to put them in on a belter of a wicket.
Their overseas opener reached his century in the 15th over and they were going along nicely at 172-0. Soon after he reached his landmark he was stumped and their number 3 got clean bowled by our leggy. The field was up for the hat trick delivery and the new man smashed him for a six over deep midwicket- pretty much summed up the rest of the innings. Towards the latter end we managed to peg them back to 287-7 at the innings break.
Our openers were both back in the pavilion in the 3rd with us on 15-2. Numbers 4 and 3 staged somewhat of a recovery, after 17.5 overs we looked as if we could cause an upset on 176-2. But then disaster, our number 3 was run out (suicidal if you ask me) for 83 and then our number 5 blocked out 3 balls of the next over before being trapped lbw. We required 103 off 66... *enter wazza*. I greeted their overseas quicky with 2 boundaries through cover in 2 balls before nicking one which their keeper dropped. I continued to play my normal style (all out attack) and quickly reached my 50 in the 24th with us back in contention needing 48 off 30. Their part-timer bowled the next over for a wicket maiden! I was still in and had to rely on the tail to reach the target. The equation- 48 off 24. I hit an almighty 6 over cow corner in the next and eventually we took the driving seat. 8 off 6. Yet again momentum changed hands and I was dismissed, mistiming a shot which ended up in the hands of their third man. I see now why many batsmen throw their bat when they get out, I shouldn’t have got out! Thankfully the tail wagged and we reached the target, mainly because we got 5 wides off the second ball of the over.

Got a duck and 1-30ish off of 6 today. We won and that's all that matters.

Played the last league game yesterday and nothing much happened. We bowled them out for 108 in 43 overs, despite putting in our most shoddy fielding display of the season. We then knocked it off for no wicket in 18 overs.

Umpired our guys in a t20 final today, knocked up 161-7, but at 93-2 off 10 we should've got a few more. Not to worry, 150 looked par and we bowled them out for 115 in 19 overs. Only briefly when their overseas started launching it to the short legside  boundary did they look like threatening. Retained the Cup we won last year  :D

good last game of the season for me to help us win the league for the 2nd year running

we got 166 for 5 off our 20 overs i got 84* sharing a opening stand of 134 amazingly 3,4 and 5 all got golden ducks (but no hat-trick)

then they chased with only 10 batsmen and got bowled out for 31.

poor effort really.

best game of the season was against loughborough town. they got 156 off 20 and were adament itd be enough to win and we got off to a decent start with me and the number 3 putting on 111 (luckily my fellow opener retired hurt as he wasnt doing much) i had to retire at 50 (stupid league rules?) which left two new batsmen at the crease one being the returning opener and needing 5 to win from last ball he hit it for 4 to tie the game.  best ameof cricket EVER

Nothing better than winning the league on the last day of the season, especially when you're 2nd favourite to win it! We needed to win and hope the other side lost. And it happened

played a friendly today, against a team 2 divisions higher supplemented with some bradford league players. They got 189-6 in 35 overs. One lad got a ton but was dropped badly at least twice. We got off to a decent start but ended on 170 ao. Nice to have a decent match against a competitive team.

Won yesterday :)
We were really struggling at 30-4 but 4 and the skipper at 6 had a good partnership taking us to 101-5. I came in at 7 and pushed it along a bit, scoring 36 off 45 balls.
Felt really good at the crease again, been missing that the last few weeks! Tried out the Cosgrove Redback I bought off Sam and it is a great bat! So happy it got it for that price.!

I got run out on an iffy single but the umpire (team-mate) gave me out straight away yet I thought I might have been closer but oh well.

A bit annoying though as there was a 50/100 there for the taking yet once again I've gotten out at 30 and not gone on >:(

Was meant to be keeping and the other keeper who opened and got 5 decided he wanted to keep :( - so was stuck in the field. Fielded ok, and we managed to bowl them out in the last over of a time game :)
