As a youth player I only started pushing into mens cricket last year in the Sunday team, yesterday I got called up by a local team to play for their 2nd's on Saturday(Most of the Sunday players play for them on Saturday)

We only had 9 players so that made it a whole lot more difficult. I came in at 8 and hit a 4 off their spinner followed by smashing a 6 from a no-ball aimed at my head(First ever 6!) before getting bowled next ball.

Came onto bowl and did brilliantly with figures of 5-3-1-15 however 8 of them came from the final two balls of my spell which did ruin the stats abit, however I ran out a key batsmen while a partnership was building which allowed us to open up their tail to get the victory.

Overall, brilliant start to the season!

We won our first league game of the season so a nice start. Came in at 4 for our 1'sts and got to 18 comfortably and at good speed, then got royally done over by our umpire given lbw to one that pitched outside leg and hit me on the top of the knee roll on my osm pads  >:(
The bowler even said to me later he was surprised he got the decision.
Posted 226-5 and bowled them out for 221/222 in the second last over! Great game.
Before I departed to the changing rooms in the 11th over to throw up a ridiculous amount I also took a good reaction catch without picking up on it till it was nearly level with me :)

Started my season well as new club captain - bowled out the oppo for 100 using 8 different bowlers then knocked them off comfortably with 2 wickets down, could have done with a more challenging match but can't complain! Personally, opened bowling and took 1 for 5 off 5 overs, they were weak and i bowled poorly but it's about getting a few decent over's under the belt before the league season starts.

On a side note, took the Laver down to the nets and had a quick knock around.......blimmin hell that thing goes - very, very springy!

Lost the toss and bowled first  :( . Bowled the oppo out for 98 in 41 overs and did it for nought in 14. They had 9 and had we batted first I reckon the league record of 429 was in danger as it was a cracking deck.

Sorry Swamidude, I saw you there and all but you were fielding when I went :| At midwicket and mid-off. Heard you got a good 47 so that's good :) - I'll play you in the season no doubt though! 8) - Got 16 today and got a corker which got me out. Though our 1s opener dislocated his knee when batting and got out hit wicket, completely grim :( - Ambulance took an hour to compound the misery :( - Leaves our 1s in the soup a bit against your lot next week Shiv...though don't tell them ;)

I had a friendly today, couldn't of had a much worse day to be honest, I opened the bowling did two overs got taken off for the rest of the game. Got put num.11 in the batting when I'm a number 4 batsmen.  To top it all off had family from Aus to come and watch. Hopefully next week will be better!!!!

Thanks mate, yes I was out at Mid wicket and Mid off! I put down a half chance and my innings wasn't that great, dropped about 6 times! Look forward to meeting you in the future mate.

Yeah thought I recognised you. Have played against you and your wicketkeeper in that game you mentioned. Oh right, still, runs are runs, however ugly! ;)
And yeah will do, I do know James Steeds well, I guess you go to the same school? Sorry I couldn't come, timings just didn't really work, plus you lot only hit 168 ffs... :p

Yeah unfortunately the more..*ahem* mature guys couldn't really put solid willow to the ball! Yes James is a friend from school.

Was quite disappointed with our performance, but hopefully I can quickly get up to the 2nds within a few years, where Southgate fare somewhat better!

Yeah that was stupid. Check this scorecard out from when we played. See what I have to deal with sometimes, I almost won them the game and got out going for a 6 over extra to go for 60 in 4 overs cause I knew I could do that... :)

But yeah same here. I want to be in the 2s when I'm 18, 2 years, sure I will see you there soon :)
Do you reckon you'll be in the 4s next week. I may well play you! :)

Honestly Leo...where's all that money ;)
