Game abandoned @7.30pm in the dark and rain. I was 75 not out off 25 overs chasing 185 with 15 overs still to go. Good game, shame was looking forward to starting the season with a ton  :)

We bowled the oppo out for 113 and did it for 5. Not the greatest effort even though the oppo were better than previous weeks. The quickies didn't bowl very well on a damp surface and the trundlers had to pull it back, though we shipped 30 more than we should of. We then proceeded to bat like millionaires on a rain effected surface to some tidy trundle, before coming to our senses and knocking the last 60 in 9 overs without losing a wicket. Our Kiwi compounded his day by getting the worst case of cramp I've ever seen, it effected both calfs and hamstrings and he had to retire hurt with 8 needed. The video is on the headingley cc facebook page if you want to post some comments:-

Played 4 league games, not been needed to bat or bowl!

Yep my Ayrtek went today completely. Even the umpire remarked about it not sounding good lol. Swapped to a Purist original and 8 x 4 and 1 x 6 later I'm a batsman again. Maybe it was the stickers Tom..... ;)

Low scores? Count our 2s in then. Cleared out for 68 and the oppo chased it down 4 down. I thought they were back because of the rain, clearly not :(

Can't say I'm surprised. Not as bad as Pagey though, called the 3s off at 9am because he didn't want to make teas basically.

Got a call at 11.30. You're supposed to be playing 3rds  (for new club, never played for them before).

Errr, thanks for letting me know earlier. I've hired kit and am currently sanding my floors :( no chance and it was brilliant conditions for seam/swing bowling :(

Great game! :) - Got to play at Shenley, which is a lovely ground where England U19s have played, as well as England Ladies' Test Matches and Special County Games etc. Pitch was very dry and flat so I was quite peed off with a 25.
Having said that, it was the 3rd highest score, but seeing the number 3 bat through most of the 53 over innings to make a superb 133* I was a bit miffed lol! Considering as I motored along to 25.
First Ayrtek sledge today, youngish opening seam bowler looks at it as he is walking to mid-wicket - quips: "come on boys, he must be good if he has a lid like that" - I shut him up when I boomed a huge one bounce four straight and 2 clips off my legs through midwicket (one of which was the skipper's fave shot of the day! :)).
We got a 4-1 Winning Draw, they shut it down after about 30 overs chasing 277 to win unfortunately.
Great to play on such a lovely pitch and ground though, finally got to bat in the 3s (batted at number 4) so hopefully I can string some more good form together and gain promotion...
So far 404 runs with the Instinct :)
