Won saturday, a agricutultural 23 with the bat, and 4 wickets with the ball.
Averaging 41 atm, which i cannt believe.
Lost a midweek game last night by 6 :/ close game, and batting in the near enough pitch black isnt ideal!

Beat Coalpit Heath in the plate tonight. We won the toss and stuck them in and quite quickly they were 13-5. We brought on our medium pacers and they got up to 90-9 off their 20. We were 57-0 when we lost our first wicket and I came in. Hit a couple of nice 4s then miscued a drive back to the bowler for 11. We lost another wicket so chased the total for the loss of 3.

My contribution; 11 and a skied catch. We still won so not too unhappy.

Someone will get a big score against them from me soon........... Watch out Tom.

Also, teams texted out tonight. I will be against Tom on Saturday as well as a surprise selection to some. Tom will know him as the last bowler to get him out vs BS :)

Played against the MCC on tuesday for school, they batted first, and in the first 2 hours before lunch 36 overs were bowled.... for 220 runs and only 2 wickets. And one of them was when the bloke got himself out deliberately... not a great start. The declared after 50 overs on 276, my own figures of 15-0-81-0 were disappointing but when the other spinners went for over 100 in 8 overs between them I wasnt too disappointed, although they claimed 3 wickets between them all with really poor deliveries.
Our batting was atrocious, we were going well until the over before tea when we lost two wickets. At tea we were 60-3. A mini-revival to 82-3 was quickly halted as the last 7 wickets went down for only 24 runs. With all the batsmen, me included, playing very poor shots.
One of their bowlers, an offspinner, returned figures of 6.2Overs, 6Maidens, 0Runs, 3Wickets - incredible!

109 off 26 balls? seriously?

Playing against the MCC is difficult as they are usually a mixture of "probationary" cricketers tying to get full membership of a club and full members plus to become a playing member you typically have to play 1st team league cricket and as a batsman average over 35 for 3 seasons - this is actually quite a big ask - what that means is if you get a game the batsmen are usually very good.
The bowlers are typically old foxes who know all the tricks including the deliberate bad ball to get out school boy cricketers - I have seen it loads of times... Sounds like you guys had a tough day... (p.s. I am not a playing member of the club - but have played a few times for them...)

Big fat duck today :(
Just annoyed really. I'm a touch out of nick and after digging out a yorker first ball I got one that held in the pitch and due to lack of form I went with hard hands and spooned it to silly mid off. :(
Haven't been able to buy a run these last few weeks NOT GOOD :( :( :(
Plus we lost after bowling them out for 153.

we had an awesome win today - reduced to 25 overs per side, we lost the toss and were put into bat. Were struggling on about 60-5, but then our number 7 went big, and got us upto 125 - possibly still slightly under par, but enough to put up a fight. I made 9, before missing a full one that jagged in a bowled me through the gate - gutted cos I was feeling really comfortable.

Oppo were 30-0 off 3 overs, but once we got there big hitting opener out we contained them really well. and they eventually finished 115 for 9. My only real contributions to the game were 2 run outs, one from in the ring, managed to anticipate the quick single and under arm it to the keeper, the other, fielding on the boundary, managed to ping the ball in right over the stumps when they were trying to run 2 to me.

Managed to beat Tom's lot today. We posted 169 all out with some odd umipiring decisions. I was ran out for 5 with my bat next to the stumps and our overseas run out without facing when making his ground. Also had one go in our favour. Tom was their only batsman, batted really well after they were 48-7. I headed a skier off Tom with a nice lump on my head and we won by about 50 runs :)

Played in the 1's today we bowled them out for 154 off 54 overs and then capitulated to 89 all out. I battled hard for gritty 8 off 10 overs hahaha

Horrible day. All out for 85 against the bottom side. I got bowled for a duck by a decent ball, felt horrible after a couple of weeks without playing. We managed to get them 7 down but just didn't have enough runs. I also kept horribly, too many byes and missed stumping. Avoiding delegation is looking tough now :(

Pretty pleased with my game yday. After scoring 44 runs in 6 matches this year my skipper told me I was opening. Ended up scoring 64 which was my maiden league 50. Put on 160 odd for this first wicket as we posted 231. Bowled the oppo out for 150 for a nice win
