I liked 2 minutes to midwicket!

My favourite live track is Fear of The Dark of the Flight 666 album.

One of very few bands who sound BETTER live. Incredible! Must go see them soon.

Also, on topic, had a personal test-match effort on Sunday. They scored 190, their opener hit 50 off about 25 balls, they were 70-0 off 10. Me and the other spinner brought it back, I bowled 10-1-36-1, he went 10-4-17-4! In reply we were 40-5 when I went in after 14 overs, a lad at the other end hit a rapid 38 but not a lot else, I scored 28* off 96 balls and we ended up at 140-9. We had no batting after me (and probably including me!) so I thought I'd do my best to get batting points!

Also, I thought I'd bring back my original post on the season targets. I've hit 155 runs, 5 more than I aimed for. I've also taken 28 wickets, some way short of my original target of 50, but I did miss 5 games due to an injured finger. I've not taken any 5fers in weekend cricket either. I have taken 6 catches in the outfield, but dropped probably 8 or 9, which is disappointing for me, even moreso when about 6 of them were off my own bowling! I've won a few fielder of the match awards though, so my ground fielding has been pretty spot on. I've got a maximum of 4 games left, so I've got time to take a few more wickets and get a few more runs just yet! In midweek cricket I've got 2 run outs, 3 catches, and taken about 25 wickets, including a 5fer in the cup final on Tuesday against a side with about 5 ECB players in, always nice! But that's a bit mickey mouse cricket at times, so I don't really count it!

Played in the 2's today. We posted 238 all out, I got 20 till I got done by a leggy and his only peach of a ball from his 18 over spell. We bowled them out for 180 odd, took another stomer in 1st slip to win the match. Did get to bowl 2 over that went for not a lot.
There was a bunch of weirdo's on the next pitch to us. How did it go Canners? A lot of chat I could hear from where I was at slip

We won today in the top of the table clash in 1st vs 2nd. They posted 165-9 off their 45 and we chased them down for the loss of 2 wkts with 9 overs left.

A 35* for me for the average....7 x 4's :)

Lost AGAIN today. Almost certainly relegated.

We batted first after being put in and I opened, when marking my guard of two, I scratched the surface twice and the area just crumbled and turned to dust. The wicket was horrific for batting on. After 4 or 5 balls and some bad shots I realised I couldn't play fluently and had to scratch around for runs. Got my act together and reached 50 in the 11th over without taking many risks, just picking gaps and running hard. Got out in the 20th over after being denied some strike and got 66 with the score on 94 and my opening partner still on 15. Unfortunately we slowed down after this and could only muster a mere 213-6.

We started out bowling well, well in truth we bowled well throughout we just let them off with our fielding. We were quiet throughout and life wasn't difficult with the batsmen. One opening getting 69 and was dropped 3 times, he wasn't good either, just close eyes and swing. They got the runs in the penultimate over 6 wickets down.

I bowled 5 overs 0-37 and was really frustrating as I'd bowl 4 good balls and over and two poor bowls which were put away each time.

On the plus side, I'm 4th top run-scorer in our league in only 5 innings.
