Rained off today against Premier League Brondsbury, but not before I had the chance to bowl out William Vanderspar (Middlesex 2's regular)

Interesting mid-table contest. I wasn't going to be bowled however after one of our more erratic bowlers went for 40 from 4 overs I was brought on in the 30th over. 2-1-1-1 I created the pressure which allowed the guy at the other end to claim a 5-fer.

Kind of annoyed at conceding that 1 run as it was me trying to bowl too quickly and spraying it down leg for a wide ball. But other than that ball I bowled very well, was nice to have something to do over the weekend as I didn't get to bat and yesterday the match was called off after 1 over...

Yeah, they have quite a few middlesex players who have played for them like Goddleman, Vanderspar, Evans etc. Pretty good side but we bowled them out for 217 but then rained off with us at 4 for 1 (I was out third ball!)

Naa some guy bowled a rapid bouncer at my body and it hit the top of the bat handle, caught at third slip.

Brondsbury (bottom of league) beat Ealing (1st place) in the Middlesex Prem yesterday too! Ealing hadn't lost a game for three years!

They had about 6 first teamers playing so not too bad, opening bowler was their first team opening bowler.

Hit my second hundred of the season (123*) and we made 246 off our 45 overs. Had them 102-6 and down came the rain!

Yup he scored 200* for them against Stanmore last time he played I think... ???

Was this a Sunday league game or a cup game - with so many 1sts playing I'd be inclined to guess at the latter.

I didn't know they did that and that is indeed a blooming good achievement. I'm in Sri Lanka atm but I heard it rained, so perhaps they won the toss and rolled Ealing.
Was it close - surely Ealing didn't go down without a fight?

Always can be Reds, don't usually get really good bowlers but more very very good bats... :)

Must have been rapid. :S

Also, Leo - where did he bat, and did you open the bowling? How's your new club mate? ??? :)

I got 35 on Saturday as we fell short chasing 245 to win in 50 overs. I was feeling comfortable and definitely on top of the bowlers - hit their first team opener for 41 off his 7 overs. But then my mate called me through for a 2 to deep square leg and proceeded to send me back, totally stuffed me.

Still waiting for my maiden 2nd XI 50.

Got 59 opening for the 1's on saturday, i started off at 4/5 and wasn't doing a lot but the captain stuck me up to open and it's paid off: 3, 56, 33, 22, 59 with 2 50 partnerships and 1 100 partnership.
Really had to grind on a track that was very hard to bat on for the first 25/30 overs and held the innings together after a few early wickets - finally got out in 40th over speeding up a bit. We declared on 243-4 off 51 (bad move) and opposition finished 2 short with 2 wickets in hand, draw. 18 points for us, 14 for them.
If we hadn't taken the new ball I think we would have won, we were on top for 70 overs of the game and nearly lost after having them 80-5

Collected the first lot of silverware for the season yesterday :) 1st team league cup! Was a belter against an under dog from division2. Very strong set indeed, they will be up in the top flight next year I'm sure. Should be a cracking year for us if both sides win the league titles in the respective divisions and we have the evening league title to collect as well. Www.trophyhunt2011.com
