Played a friendly I arranged vs our under-17s tonight as a exercise to prove a point and unfortunately it was abandoned after 19 overs. Although we had our overseas, 1s opening bowler and 1s number 4 batman playing for the U-17s to make the numbers up.

I played for the adults and opened, got 33 off 12 balls then was told to retire and my opening partner got 35 off 20 retired. We were 168-3 off of 19 before the rains came.

golden duck number 1 was a hattrick ball, full toss on leg stump, ive timed it pretty nicely straight to the pro (best batsman/fielder ever!) at short leg, good catch.

golden duck number 2 was a very slow ball just back of a length that just kept on getting bigger and bigger on me, went for the hook, top edge in to my helmet and gathered by the wicketkeeper.

just a couple of slices of bad luck i would say!

Dont worry about it mate. I've had 3 consecutive low scores in the league recently, which I've put down to bad luck! A yorker that was too good for me, caught at deep cover in the third over, and ran myself out with a direct hit! Good times

I was a ringer for a local team on Sunday to play a T20 tournament. Made 67 no at 5 as we made 115 from our 20. I bowled 4 overs for 11 but it wasn't enough as they cruised to victory in 17 overs. Good day out, but hopefully I will get a few on Sat!

Excellent day today. Lost heavily, I got a second ball duck and dropped a catch. Brilliant.

Fantastic game today. It was 3rd (us) vs. 2nd in the league with just 4 games left so a very important game. We won the toss, bowled first and bowled the opposition out for 132 from 47 overs. We batted poorly in response, kept losing wickets due to poor shots and poor umpiring! At 98-9 it was looking pretty doubtful. Untill our no.11 who was involved in a fairly serious car accident the night before helped himself to 17* to win the game!

Should put us back to 2nd, happy days!
