i quite enjoy facing lefties, not too many of them around though. I tend to open up my stance a bit and was always told to hit it back where it came from. play straight. Everyone is different though. all depends on your initial set up and where your strengths/weaknesses are. i would say just be confident and play each ball as it comes

sounds like you were playing across the angle/ any swing/movement the bowler was getting. just play straighter. wouldnt worry too much

Johners has just said my post! If you're playing across it, play straight. We have a left armer at Uni who swings it round corners, and that's really good practice because I've faced one doing the same thing just this weekend and it helped me immensely. Just play straighter, that's all!

Cheers guys, I think the fact that the ball generally starts off on my legs then moves across is what gets me, I see it on my legs and try and put it on the leg side when it probably ends on on off thus i get out.

i used to do the same. eyes light up when its on leg stump. think easy runs then it swings or angles across and you either nick it, leading edge or played down the wrong line and loose your off peg

Off topic ever so slightly, this is what, according to Wayne White of Leicestershire, Left arm seamer Harry Gurney has on his wall... It's a pretty good formula! http://yfrog.com/gy2khyuj

As others have said - you are looking to play a lower percentage shot, effectively trying to work the ball aganist it's natural path - playing through mid off or extra cover will reduce your risk and should keep the scoring going.

As a lefty myself i'd say try maybe opening up your stand a teeny bit....this works for me facing right handers and i see a lot of sucessful right handers do it against us lefties.
Were they swinging the ball? If it away swing i sometimes move a fair bit infront of the stumps knowing that anything pitching inline should miss and anything hitting may have pitched on leg unless very full. This becomes easier to work off your legs i find as well as moving yuorself nearer to the pitch if i wide line is taken by the bowler.
If inswing i find you have to wait for a bad ball, not found a sure fire way of playing this that i am comfortbale with, i usually look to get off strike by nicking a quick single, cant get out from the other end. But there are often a few tickles down the legside to be had off an inswinger.

As a bowler if you have no idea then we'd probably look to bowl straight, if you are a rh bowler and bowl to lefties its the same principle so have a think about that. The length, if bowling on a decent wicket, would probably be going through at around top of stumps. Its the same principles as normal bowling really mate, we arent so demonic that we've created new rules for our bowling ;)
Got a lefty in our midweek team who I love facing in nets as he bowls away swing to me, but because of he line he is bowling from, you can adjust your position a little more open, and then play him through the straight V and covers/extra cover. I'm no batting expert, but if you adjust your line from the start then i think you give yourself a better chance.

Think its been said already, but open up slightlty to allow for the angle so your not closing off or playing around. Your front pad.  Also find good to drive thru extra cover burt don't get drawn into playing too wide let them bowl at you will soon get fed up if leaving one wide of off stick.

If the angle/swing is worrying you bat a yard out of your crease to reduce the angle/swing
