CJI Fatso Cricket Bat
« on: April 26, 2011, 08:40:31 PM »

My brother is looking for a monster of a cricket bat for this season and he found this on ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CJI-FATSO-LIMITED-EDITION-FULL-SIZE-NEW-EDITION-/300549527017?pt=UK_SportingGoods_CricketBats_SM&hash=item45fa25d5e9#ht_4126wt_825

They say you can request one up to 4lb. Is that even legal?

Have any of you guys heard of this company and or used one of their bats?

Yes, they also make the sumo which is the same shape but better stickers. Usually Kashmir Willow, not great pick up. Heavy bats generally.

I recently purchased a 'Grade 2' English willow Cji Fatso @ 2.14.
I can safely say it is one piece of wood. The ball does fly off all parts of the bat. the pickup is one of the lightest i have used aswell, and this has been said by all that has picked it up at my club.
The only problem, although my own, is that i do tend to find the inside edge, and the wood is so so soft, and have a few indents in it.

I would recommend it, but i would not go for the Kashmire willow model as i am sure the pickup would be alot different and probably only last not even half as long.

I have two of them - they are not laminated but are kashmir willow. But at this size of bat, it still goes like a rocket! I think they have 55mm edges but will measure them sometime soon.
I see them as a toy really. Too heavy to use like a normal bat

Lets be careful what we are talking about. The fatso comes in English Willow. The fatso limited edition is extra large an Kashmir Willow only.
