How old are you bud in all truth level has bugger all to do with it..

We all think we could make it and in the end 95 per cent of us are wrong so stick with the game for enjoyment..

My theory is is simple if you do not think your getting a fiar crack of the whip ask them.

If your at your level and that is that make your mind up.

I will be honest mate enjoying your cricket is best be it in the top order at a lower level and bowling or batting at 9 and being a stand in player.

I think you already have your answer reds..

Have you told your club that you are not happy with them and need more chances. See what they say. If you still don't get chances then I would say LEAVE. You should enjoy your game otherwise its not worth playing.

Once you play one league game for that club the league rules state that you can not change club that season, so I need to get it sorted sooner rather than later...

Mate, you need to do what you need to, to enjoy your cricket. Last year I was playing 2's and was batting at 8 or 9 and not bowling and most weekends just felt as though I was there making up the numbers. I told the 2's skip that I wanted to play 3's and my reasons why and now I either open or bat 3 and bowl when required as well and really enjoy my cricket. I'm not bothered by the level or league I play in - that's not important to me. If you think you will enjoy your cricket more elsewhere then there is only one decision - leave.

I'd leave mate, score runs for your old club and prove that you're worth a place in the top 6 @ norton :)

Same thing has happened to me, never seem to get a fair go. Runs/wickets in the previous game and still drop down the order or don't bowl next match, etc.

I stuck with the club I'm at and it didn't work for me. Saturday cricket wasn't really enjoyable anymore so I will definitely be changing when our next season rolls around.

I'd change if I were you. Go somewhere you'll be appreciated definitely. Good luck!

The great thing in hitting is, not to be half-hearted about it; but when you make up your mind to hit, to do it as if the whole match depended upon that particular stroke.

I play Sunday friendlies at my club which are good. But my club is also part of Wednesday t20 league which has 11 teams playing Wednesday evenings in a league which we won last year. I was away most weeks so didn't play - plus I would be the 12th man usually as Wednesday is the best team by a long way compared to our Sunday team. But I am only likely to get the odd game on a Wednesday as captain doesn't want to change winning formula! So I am off to play for one of the other local teams in that Wednesday t20 league cos I'm able to play most Wednesday's this year!
I netted with this other team and they have offered any Saturday league games I want too! So will play Sunday's with my team. Will do Wednesday's with other team (especially against my normal team!!) and the odd Saturday with the other team when the missus allows it!! ;-)
My captain said he would prefer for me not to play for another team on Wednesday as I am not a bad batsman and fielder, and he would always want me in case one person is injured.....but he understands that my Sunday commitment is fully to him and the club!
But I would just be making up the numbers on Wednesday, then I am going where I'll be able to play! Simple!
I would leave and still play on Sunday fir your club?

its all about enjoyment, not employment! :) if cricket was your job then it would be worth not getting a game but being paid for it but we all have to go to work on monday morning! your bit of fun at the weekend shouldnt give you further ballache on top of the 9-5. Leave and continue on a sunday.

It all boils down to the captain. When i was captain of our sunday friendly team I would always give players a bat or a bowl. some good allrounders would get angry that they werent batting and bowling, but I felt it my responsibility to give everybody a game.

When I joined a new team this wasnt the case. The captain would send people who came just to make numbers up, above me in the order, and send me in at 7 or 8, with only a few overs to go. Allow that, I left!
