MASSIVE DECSION - FORUM FRIENDS PLEASE HELP!!!
« on: April 27, 2011, 09:45:34 PM »

As some of you might remember I posted a topic couple of weeks back about thinking of changing clubs so close to the season...

Well.... in the past couple of friendlys for my current club I have been batting at 8 or 9. When I batter at 8 I kept but when I was at 9 I didn't keep nor get a bowl. I have spoken to my previous club who would love to have me back. Id definitely bat top 6 and possibly bowl. This club however are 2 leagues lower than the team I am at now.

If I was to leave them I would still want to continue playing Sundays for them. What to do guys???

From a confused

Reds

Seems simple to me. Nothing worse than being in a team where you don't get a fair chance.

key thing is to enjoy your cricket. Level isn't important if you are batting/bowling regularly and being involved in the game. I get the impression who are possibly playing at too higher level if your present club don't feel they can use you.

Go where the work is.

If you are happy at 8/9 not doing much then stay but I know personally I would not give up my free time and pay to not be involved

I dropped 4 divisions mate and am really happy. Best thing I ever did for the same reasons you have.

Although the politics and treatment of a younger player made my mind up in the end

Reds I have just returned to my old club and am playing 2s cricket 3 divisions below what I was last year. Standard does Not come in to it if you just want to enjoy your cricket.

What makes the decision hard is the fact its a great club and would love to play my Sunday cricket there I'm just not sure how they would react to that.

Last season I was at 3,4,5 or 6. I've netted well so don't understand it

Have you tried asking them?

I doubt they would look favourably on you playing Sunday cricket after leaving the sat side but may be wrong

Can't you play sundays at the club you want to move to?

The only reason 99% of people play cricket is to have fun. If your not having fun where you are then go somewhere you will have fun. Your cricket will improve as a result....guaranteed   :)

I started there only playing Sundays so it might be cool.

I've spoken to the captain who happens to be one of my best mates and he said the decision is up to me, obviously he wouldn't want me to go but its my choice.

you're new to the club/team, so you will have to earn your stripes, so to speak. the more established members of the team might fell a bit peeved, if a newbie comes into the team and gets to bat/bowl where he wants, if theyve had a settled top 5 for a while.

I'd stay at your new club, higher level will be good for your game, and when they are 60/6 and you go in and play a match winning innings they will take notice and the rewards will come.
