So I've just got in and Cook is going to be named the new ODI captain (according to SSN) and collingwood is going to retire as T20 captain? Who's going to take that over? KP? IB? Who knows...?

Also what I found interesting is that AF stayed with England rather than India, so I guess he's had some say on the captaincy/selection on other players?

Just for the record I think Cook is a very improved one day player and from the performances he's given for Essex in recent times he's shown the selectors he means business, however I feel as though Strauss has come on massively as an ODI player in recent times.

If Strauss gives the captaincy away, I don't know who I would want as captain as I feel as though with Cook coming in it would make Strauss surplus to requirements which he definately isnt, especially when you take the Indian innings into account (probably one of the best ODI batting performances I've been in many of years).

So Cook coming in to the squad (as captain will make room for strauss (or maybe even KP???)), so who would he replace?





In saying that, Prior for me has to come out! Davies? Kieswetter?

I think they should quit moaning about too much cricket, it's a dream job!
Id never complain, especially in county cricket because they get 6 months off

They knew there would be long tours, I'm sure there is plenty of other career choices if they don't like it

I'm not sure you realise how much cricketers do in the off season mate. Even county cricketers are spending time in the gym, in nets, with physios, it's essentially like the on season, but more focussed on fitness.

So it's been announced that Cook will take over the ODI captaincy and Broad will take over as T20 captain. Strauss remains as Test captain.

Not sure about Broad as T20 captain but i guess time will tell.
