Major Announcement Tommorrow
« on: May 04, 2011, 04:30:53 PM »

My journalist friend called me just now to tell me to expect a Major announcement tommorrow at Lords around 11ish regarding the England Captaincy.

Ha I should really follow Vaughan on twitter.
He works backroom for the daily mail, nothing major but always good for gossip!

This is ridiculous - why is Strauss going (which I assume is the news)? He's one of our better ODI batters, and there really isn't a credible alternative - KP? I hope not, he's a complete dil in front of the press, and wants to give up ODI's anyway.

We had a sh*t WC - not Straussy's fault, blame the whole squad and the selectors, plus the fatigue in key players.

Nonsense!

How can they give the captaincy to someone who isn't even a ODI regular ?

Because to be fair, he is in the top 2 opening batsmen in the country, shorter form as well as the longer form.

Strauss to carry on ODI, who cares about 20/20, does it make much odds?

Mark Nicholls comments and spot in the cricketer told the whole odi story i think

We can not moan at being poor in odi 50 over cricket when it is not a format we play at domestic level

I think they should quit moaning about too much cricket, it's a dream job!
Id never complain, especially in county cricket because they get 6 months off

They knew there would be long tours, I'm sure there is plenty of other career choices if they don't like it

I think it's more the time away from your family more than the workload as that can be a lot to bear not seeing your kids for 4 months at a time
