Ripped webbing! :(
« on: May 15, 2011, 11:31:11 AM »

The webbing on my SS LE camo gloves has ripped off, and although i'm going to take them to a cobblers to see if they can repair them, i'm not feeling too positive about it. Any recommendations for a new pair, i only really want to spend £50 tops! Cheers

Just use a good old needle and thread mate and stitch it back on

Can you stick pictures up so we can have a better idea on how you could fix it?

I change my advice... what you need is a FEMALE a needle and a thread

I would say super glue is your friend here as it would be very hard to stitch it back. Did you buy them off online stockist?

I have the same gloves and got them from online stockist aswell. I would be fuming if it happened cause they are the best fitting keeping gloves I ever had

That looks nasty mate. Feel for ya.

Happened to my Puma Indoor gloves but not as bad as your case.
I fixed them with needle and thread and they have been good for the last 2 years.

So long as nothing is torn you should be able to sew them up.

A more recent tear in my indoor gloves webbing is holding well with a dollop of shoe goo covered with elastoplast.

I have the SS green camo and know how good they are. Persist and get them back in action.

The problem with stitching them is that the thumb part has come apart too, so it's very intricate stitching, and i'm not the best with a needle

Why can you not return them? Are they over a year old?

a decent cobbler will be able to repair these - I wouldn't try to do it yourself unless you have the proper needles for stiching leather - you could end up with some sore fingers.
