Gambhir - Gunn & Moore
« on: May 25, 2011, 04:36:17 PM »

Ok, I know its not a new piece of news that players dont use the brands that they advertise 90% of the time, but just noticed Gambhir using a GM Apex, if not, something that was stickered as one before... how odd!

Not an apex shape,  so it was probably a GM sponsored player and he just got it from them.

A gift from someone like Botha or Smith during India's tour of SA?

Iirc, Smith switched to using a Luna halfway through the SA tour of India, so the idea of it (an old Apex of his perhaps..?) seems very plausible. :)

That's definitely not a Apex.

If I recall correctly, Edward had mentioned that GM sponsored players get bats with the same profile as the stickers on it. So this bat cannot be Flare or Icon or anyother profile with Apex stickers

Trotts bat we saw did not look like an icon when we were there

The first cricket box was used in 1874.  The first cricket helmet was introduced in 1974. So, it took 100 years for men to twig that their brains were also worth protecting.
