Choosing a bat?

Hi im Robin and new to the forum although iv been peeping around the posts for a week or so. In just over 2 weeks my GCSE's will be over and because i worked so hard  8) mum said she would get me a new cricket bat. The last good bat i had was kippax vitra fireblade in harrow, and to my amazement it had 14 grains, when looked earlier. when it essentially died, i rushed out and bought the first decent bat i saw. a puma evolution 3000, anyway to cut the story short, the bats too heavey im looking for a new to buy, considering a kippax KV-X L.E or one of matts H4L's. Which do you lads think are better and if so do you have any alternative suggestions. (p. range apprx £200 give or take 10)

I suggest that you take a good look around the makers' sections on the forum as they all make some cracking bats and I reckon you won't go wrong with what you're gonna get. Though if you live near a maker, a custom service is also an option...
I would say that you have to make sure you pick the weight that is gonna suit you best. I'm 16 myself, and use a 2.9 with another grip on it - that makes it a 2.11 max..
All depends on your game mate but you will not go wrong with the makers you've mentioned or the other brands on here. Also do note that Mike (Talisman) has some quality bats from his own brand though he doesn't have a section out of choice - though he is moving house at the moment so is not on as frequently (he can be a tad slow but gets the best products every time :) ).

Ty Johan, i will do some more diggin before a come to final decision. i wish i could go and look at some bat factories or makers but i live in Northern ireland and as far as i know , they dont have any there

Would you not go into Lion Sports in Northern Ireland and pick up some of the bats there. They have a great selection and are very reasonably priced

i was going have a look there, it only 30 mins from my house. But the website was putting me off. might pop round and take a looky on the weekend
