Have posted this in the GN forum asking if it can be repaired - the bat appears to have split with the grain. The bat itself was an 80's powerspot that has been refurbed with the 90's stickers. Thoughts anyone on it being repairable??

Something else to add to the "Old Beauties" thread. It also raised a question to me.

Here's a lovely old Stuart Surridge Turbo Injection. I'm pretty sure the Injection refers to the Toe Strengthening Insert that this bat has. This one isn't in bad nick and despite needing a new handle grip, seems to rebound well. It weighs in at roughly 2lb 11oz and picks up remarkably well. I also love the shape of these bats. It's a pity that they stopped being made, and really does make me want to purchase one of the newer SS Turbos that they started to make again. Not bad for the �20 I paid.

Driving past an op shop today and saw a bat on the window front and decided to pop in for a quick look. Picked up this slaz for $5

. Gonna give it a clean up and it's gonna be my first refurb. Just got a question tho guys any suggestions on how to remove the melted grip rubber from the handle? Also anynoe have a rough idea what model bat this is?

Its the grip, I say someone had left that bat in a hot car or in the sun and the grip has melted on to it.

I had the same with a DF Bat which I just gently scrapped the grip off with a Stanley knife blade. I'd imagine anything that's pretty stiff and thin would be able to remove it. I'll post pics up here soon.

Here's a bat that was freecycled to me. It's quite a nice bat but haven't had chance to refurb yet. looking forward to trying it in the nets. Does anyone know what era this one is from?

did see this article earlier, definitely no holes but I can't see why anyone would sticker up a bat like this? if it wasn't that model

just seen the powerspot i have one the same as that but now the blade is only half the normal length due to a large long crack and is now used as a fielding catching bat

not sure if i should have put it in vintage as it is old or in bats i cant let go

Was at an antiques place last weekend, they had a boxed Nichols bat with some stumps etc, �79. Not sure if it was worth it but looked nice. Was place in battlesbridge near hullbridge essex
