A 1980's era Maestro (as used by Tugga on the 89 Ashes tour).

Not sure whether to refurb or leave as is (I have taken the tape off - the bat has "tan lines").

Also removed munted grip in favour of a lime green one with blue tape.

I have this exact bat still with one of the original grips on it (they came standard with two grips)! Bought it new from from GCCC in Brisbane in 1986. Still taps well too.

@Wickets-then-runs - very nice.  I used to get the GCCC catalogues as a kid.  They were cricket porn.  The Maestro was one of the top-shelf bats I lusted after in those catalogues - along with the DF Magnum, G-N GC Master, G-N Hookes Hurricane, Symonds Super Tusker, SS Jumbo, and the County Ultimate.

Got this for £12 posted from ebay. It has that 'vanished'? Finish but is practically unused. Bouncing a ball on it left seam marks.

Never expected to find one but managed to get hold of one in pretty bad shape on eBay









After spending a good amount of money got it into this shape (thanks to a Forum sponsor)









Don't think it is still in a usable shape and don't want to test.

What type of Slazenger is that?  Looks a bit like a Newbury Excalibur.

Here is my latest add to the collection. Has a very clean face circa late 90s early 2000s I think.

This is another one that is kinda interesting.  You might not be able to read it but the yellow text says Indoor.  This bat has no ridge.  It's completely flat on both sides.  My guess is for a few years in the 80s manufactures thought you needed a specialist bat to play Indoor Cricket.

It's a Slazenger WG, I think it came on the market in 84 at the same time as GN's shoulderless bat, the Volcano.

The Sabre was introduced for the 1997 season. I saw one in VKS just before Xmas 96 and thought about buying one, but in the end went for a very nice GN Dynadrive.

Have not seen even a photo of the GN Volcano barring a snapshot in one of the Forum posts. Even Gray-Nicolls UK could not provide any information about it. Would like to see some photos if any Forum members have got one in their collection and hope to own one at some point of time...along with a Newbery Excalibur
