Perfecting the inswinger
« on: June 07, 2011, 08:17:48 PM »

Hiya,

In the first match I played after years, i was able to extract swing and was mainly bowling outswingers. I was unable to bowl inswingers. I want to pefect this art so any suggestions.

Cheers

I'm in a similar position to you really - I used to always bowl heavy outswing almost every ball due to my action but have altered my action this season as I could never bowl an inswinger even if I tried before. I find that pushing my wrist towards the slips helps to get inswing but a lot of the time the seam seems to tilt back towards me, negating any swing. Maybe flicking the wrist a bit more to keep it more upright as well as angling the wrist to the slips may do it is what I'm thinking at the moment but haven't had a chance to try it fully yet so im not sure

Fast forward to 3:30. Its all about how you end up with your follow through. Really push that ball through!
