porlock - ive never known it rain for so long in such a small place.  it seemed to have its own blinkin weather system when i was there!  thank god for the pub with the pool table and rather extortionate sized portions of chips! (not to mention the beer..)

Gus - is that you hitting the winning runs then? Scoreboard says Oxford posted 270, and I presume your batting for Cambridge with 267 on the board and a nice looking shot there!

Ha yeah it was, pretty much the greatest moment any cricketer could wish for! Playing there is such a privilege, its the best deck I've played on all year which says something as we usually play on Fenners which was rated the 3rd best pitch last year by the Umpiring panel. Its such a true wicket and it carries nicely, keeping is difficult though due to the wobble!

I do know Ben, played some UCCE/MCCU games with him. Good player.

And I have played at Pembroke, not for the Crusers specifically but for the Cambridge BUCS side which is a mixture of Blues and Crusers...also a good place to play, not as good as Fenners but still very nice!
