Cheating ******* rotten to the ******* core *******.

I'm tempted to suggest cutting his bowling arm off to stop him flaunting the ban again. Worse goes on for lesser crimes in his country every day...

johan i dont know where brentham 3's play,i know their ones/two's ground which is off pitshanger lane-not sure about 3rds ground

i used to play against highgate regularly a few years ago, lovely club and grounds.next to north london/calthorpe if i remember

we still play crouch end/calthorpe so yr ground is just next to it i think.

highgate got promoted to county league years back, had some very good players and i faced some quicks there for sure.
our league is the one below yours.we do have a fixture against north london in 2 weeks. ppcc 2nds.

johan do we know each other??  haha

Leo,standard is pretty good i would say

our side is in div1 now but only by default as the county league lost a club during the winter so we had to make up the numbers(barnet b's went bust)

i know most of the county league sides thou like highgate, acton etc

the middlesex championship has always been just below county league standards

the county league div 3(lowest) would still be better than our Div 1 standard I reckon..

ive played many games at Highgate and north london, nice grounds, good standard....
Yep 25 of the Barnet Boys tried to join us, luckily 22 applications were declined.

Is that the one near Park Royal? Exactly right with the ground. It's a lovely ground with a short straight boundary... :D
Yeah they did, we're Div 2 MCCL now... Did you face Duckett, not amazingly sharp now but nips it back miles :D
Indeed, North London and Calthorpe are next to the Highgate ground... :)
Fair enough. Do you open in the 1s..?

Our 4s played your 4s a couple of weeks back near Heathrow...apparently there were some Barnet Bs boys but did you only get a couple...? ???

Just to add to the mess, the league he played in doesnt allow you to field someone who has played first class cricket in the last year...

***Ah. My bad, it's actually "Current Season".

hmmm....this is looking more and more like a lash up up gigantic proportions.

u obviously have to be registeI did wonder how he could stroll into a surrey league game without signing anything. Most leagues have restrictions on pro's playing, our league is 2 years after last first class game, the middx county league does allow them thou, eastcote have 2 or 3,finchley one or two,etc-but you have to be registered.....

We have largely agreed here that Amir has broken his ban - however, i love these stories from the players (in today's torygraph)

Matthew Quade, St Luke’s wicketkeeper

We realised who he was only when the team sheets were handed in just before the toss. Of course we knew about the ban, but Addington told us that they had got permission to field him.

“We were a bit daunted but it was a great opportunity to face one of the world’s great bowlers. Rather than the bowling it was his batting that did the damage. He opened for them and scored 60 very rapidly. I think we dropped him on 25 though.

“His first over he was obviously holding back and was hit for seven runs, which he clearly didn’t enjoy because he stepped it up a gear in the next over. I would say even though he wasn’t bowling at full capacity he was still at least 10 miles per hour faster than anything we normally face.

“His bowling was so accurate, very impressive indeed. I would describe the standard of our games as average and he certainly wasn’t that. It was fantastic for us to play against such a big name in the game even if he did take four for nine. I faced two balls from him and survived them so I was delighted.”

Raheal Shafi, Addington batsman

He arrived really early with a few of the other guys. He was very down-to-earth. No one would have known he was an international star. He was giving tips to some of the lads on how to bowl and he just got on with playing cricket.

“I sat next to him during tea and he was telling us all about the kind of standards and facilities of the stuff you get during tea at Lord’s. We just had egg and tuna sandwiches.

“He was probably holding back his pace but he was still very quick to the other guys. The keeper took a couple of short ones and said he bowled quick. Most of the guys at our level don’t wear helmets but they did on Saturday. In fact even he did when he went out to bat. He did not like the pitch and it was not really up to the standard that he is used to.

“He was a nice guy and I just hope playing for us does not get him into trouble. We thought we would ask if he was available and would like to play the rest of the season for us, so it came as a big shock to find it all in the newspapers.”

Just checked the scorecard... only two of them played although one was Barnet B's first team skipper who is playing in our 4th team at the moment!

His first over went for 7 because he wasn't trying! So he bowled...
6 overs, 4 maidens, 2 runs, 4 wickets ;)

Errr, correct me if I'm wrong but an ICC ban on "Any Cricket-related activity" also includes your league, and any activity involving a cricket bat and cricket ball, of any description. You, Sir, are a complete idiot. You, Sir, and the League committee all deserve to be sacked and replaced by people who know what they are doing.

In addition, the same is true of the club.

Haha behave, you're suggesting he couldn't even knock in a bat?
He's only banned from matches that are at all related to the ICC. A story like this broke a while back about a game he played in Rawlpindi which was basically as professional as me and you grabbing 20 mates and heading up to the local field for a laugh. Which Amir is perfectly well within his rights to do.

Yeah, I don't think there's too much of an issue with that. Unfortuantely, this was a Surrey County League Division 1 match!
