ROFL. Helpful! Go and look up "baseball throwing training" and other "Ball Throwing Improvement" searches. They will nearly all point at baseball style stuff, but it is completely valid for Cricket.

Follow the drills provided.

Those kettlebell routines I gave you a while back will help you as well.

what about if, like me, you have a god aweful throwing arm and when ever you try to throw more than 20 yards you get a really bad shooting pain in your shoulder...??? :o

A good set up is the main thing when throwing from the boundary. You need forward momentum from your body aswell as your arm

I have a good arm (if I say so myself) but my arm is fully extended behind my shoulder before I throw and I flick my wrist on release. It's a bit like your backlift in some respects, the bigger the arc the more power you can get into it.

Follow through and pivot around (I think...) would be my advice.
Definitely the follow through part, since I've started that last Saturday my throwing arm is way better :D

you could always try the old classis bowl it in from the boundary. the oldies seem to do ok with it.

technique is the most important thing, try crow hopping in front of yourself rather than behind, this keeps your hips and shoulders in alignment with your target and keeps your momentum going in that direction meaning more power in your throw

I kind of take a step forward before i throw like kind of walk in with the throw. Another good tip i got off an oldie was to look in the keepers eyes/head area as the ball more often than not drops around his waist area.

Step into the throw towards the target so the momentum goes there, too many people run perpendicular to where the throw will go and expect to get power on it. Use the wrist flick and completely follow through, im only 5'6" but i could clock mid 80s when my shoulder was ok with my throwing flat over 60-70 yards no problems but the follow through and not side arming the throw are crucial if you dont want to blow out your shoulder like i did, your front leg acts as a break to allow your upper body to catapult over it just like in bowling the wrist flick and finger flicks when timed right made the ball fly a lot flatter and further with pace good luck

I need to boost my throwing power!

Also after throwing my shoulder aches quite strongly, ways to improve this?
