Geraint Jones - What's in your sports bag?
« on: June 18, 2011, 08:59:07 AM »

Saw this on another forum and thought it looked intersting.

I never knew about using nail polish remover to clean marks off your bat, but it works as I gave it a go on my training bat and it looks much better, only actual chips of paint left on it now. Very nice indeed. Obviously you can only do this if you have a scuff/hammer edge sheet on the bat.

It has made a massive difference and it looks better in person. I hate using my match in the nets as we use freshly painted organe balls at training as we train outside at night, and it just makes the bat look tacky. I may actualy use my match bat in the nets now as I can just clean the orange paint off.

Also explains why alot of pro's bats always look new, they just clean them with the nail polish remover.

I used a bit of white spirit on mine and that does the same job.

Tbh you can use it on the wood itself but you don't need much at all. I agree that it makes bats look a lot newer/better.

I'm confused as to where the paint has come from. Have you had too many 'encounters' with the boundary boards after getting out?
