Has anyone ever had any experience with Gel wicket keeping gloves?
If so what were they like?

I used a pair of old Easton ones a few times and they were pretty good, didn't feel as though they offered any greater protection really. I think the fact that none of the brands top gloves have gel palms is probably an indication of how well they perform.

Its a personal thing but i personally can't stand them, they don't allow me to feel the ball into my hands

So is it mainly just about the protection on the palms then?

Yes that's the only difference. Personally I think it's just a bit of a gimmick.
