Debutants Luck or Genuine Find? David Warner
« on: January 15, 2009, 11:39:28 PM »

Here in Australia the media keep making up sensational reports on the young David Warner who scored 80odd off not many balls they heaped pressure on him and he scored 7 in the final Twenty20 game at the Gabba.

Sure it was a good find but people go overboard.

Do you guys think its wrong to escalate pressure on debutants, i know the knock at the MCG was deserving of praise but a lot of retired legends were egging the selectors to pick him for the one day squad i think its  a bit too much, they go overboard.

He hit good shots but he doesnt come close to some of the big hitter of the game, its not about how hard you hit but how often you can pull it off.

People even said he has a chance at playing Major League Baseball in the States, thats a bit too much isn't it?

The anticipation of him emerging from the pavilion, and his walk from the boundary to the centre, is almost surreal. The sound of a passionate Indian crowd all chanting "Sachin, Sachin" as they wait in anticipation, followed by the enormous roar when he emerges onto the field, is electrifying.

I just dont think you can judge a player on 1 innings, take Napier for example what has he done major since the 150 odd he scored in the smallest ground in england !

He hit a long ball mon! Long Ball! He could play baseball of he its it that far with a round bat! and if he is a good enough athlete...Their has also been talk of Usain 'Lightning' Bolt playing NFL as a Wide Receiver with his hight and speed good luck catching him! Just about if he wants to take the hits if he can put up with theat he would be mad to turn it down!

We all remember what happened when Dwayne Chambers tried it and tried rugby!

Rugby is a far different sport plus chambers was a junkie therefore most of the teams wouldn touch him but if Bolt could be taught to catch then he would be unstoppable! I would back at least one team to take a punt with him
