Playing at Minehead on the better of the two pitches (by the sounds of things), with a game on the other pitch. I was surveying the field and saw that the fielder who would have been at deep square leg had his back facing our game and appeared to be fielding at long on on the other pitch. Needless to say, I played the best pull shot I have ever played in my life for it to end up in deep backward square legs grateful hands. I couldn't believe it!!!

I also got run out in a sunday friendly by a yes no call which was also up there with one of the most frustrating ways of getting out

I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal.

Every other dismissal for me this year as I have mostly got out when set for a good score, infuriating - only been got out 3 times all season that says it all.

I don't care how I'm out. Every way really gets me grumpy...

Caught at 2nd slip after trying to leave a ball at the last second. The ball hit the ground, bounced up off first slips boot and they claimed the catch. Umpire didn't know but after long debate with the square leg ump I was given anyway. To make it worse I had only just recovered from an inswinging Beamer to the nads!  >:(

Shocker! Haha, easy mistake to make I guess. I heard you and Gary got off to a flyer the other day, 50 off 5?!

Yeah mate, we did alright. The next 10 overs yielded about 22 though lol. I have never seen a display of swing bowling that was as impressive as the opener's (Joel?). There was no need for an umpire cos no matter where it started, it was missing leg stump so no chance of LBW.

Hot Dog appreciated his present as well lol!

Joel is a great bowler, swings it more than anybody else I know, great lad as well! Hahaha, I thought he would like it! He always keeps on about how village my socks look in the last couple of games when I've played against him, yet in those games I've got him out, took 4 wickets and hit 120 runs! I might be there on thursday aswell, big game for you boys....

I middled  one to backward point yesterday  ( only fielded on the leg side) he didn't even have to move, gutted!!

Backward point is an off side position mate, though bit worrying if there was only one fielder on the off side!

Probably either saturday or sunday for me too. Saturday I had fought really hard to get to 43 before inside edging a pull onto my stumps >:( annoying thing was we fell 13 runs short at the end and if I had stayed we would have won. Sunday opened the batting and probably felt the best I have had all season, played a lovely cut shot off of a first 11 bowler only to be stumped by one of the best bit of keeping I have ever seen  >:( guy from the other end bowling about 75mph I dug a yorker out off of the bottom of the bat and it was going towards first slip and the keeper standing up has grabbed it one handed and demolished the stumps as my back foot just came up  :o frustrated about that as it was the last over off both of their opening bowlers spells and as normally happens the rubbish comes on after that

Yeah mate, me and Joel had a decent amount of banter when I was umpiring. I was in stitches cos our middle order couldn't hit a ball off the square. He would have made much better batsman than us look average I reckon. Not close to 1st team honours?

Two bad ones for me this season. Got overconfident on Saturday against a week bowling attack and after performing a reverse sweep I tried the Dilshan scoop, it went wrong and I got caught. Was annoying as I had got a good start and was picking up the ball really well, thought I could help myself to a nice 20 or 30 in the last few overs.

Next one was again against a team low down in the league, however their bowling attack was much better, coming in at 3 I had struggled for 4 or 5 overs before slashing wildly at a wide ball to be caught very easily. What was annoying is that it was the first bad ball of my innings and I simply lost my head and tried to smash it out of the park.

Sounds unlucky but why would it be a dead ball? or did it roll?
Well not quite, it stayed very very low.. enough to get under the bat without being beaten by pace if you know what I mean.. it just didn't come up.. the umpire consulted the square leg but said afterwards I was unlucky to be given out...
In Prague we have few trained umpires so rely on ourselves or other team members to umpire...
