Well, to be honest, I've had a pretty rubbish season so far, missing a few games through illness and such like.
However, I have been playing Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Thursday for ages now, yet I haven't seen the fruits of my work at all!
I'm primarily a bowler, a legspinner, but have only taken 4 wickets all season.
But get this.
I have had 18 DROPPED catches off my bowling (all easy chances), and 9 MISSED Stumpings (Clear cut).
I even had someone come down the wicket, snick it to the keeper, who dropped it and then proceeded to fumble it completely, missing the stumping.
What on earth is going on?

You're a spinner, you should be used to it. I've always had catches dropped off mine, stumpings, shots that just miss, drop short or go just over a fielder. I've not had many dropped this year, and I reckon I've dropped 3 or 4 c+b attempts to be honest, but it's the luck of the draw really.

Bad luck mate. Dropped catches and missed stumpings are part of it I'm afraid.
Soon you'll get a couple of 5WHs if you're creating loads of chances and those chances will be taken.

sounds familiar, my brother is an off spinner, and he's had at least 25 drop catches in the field this season, including 3 off his own bowling. It happens...

i started the season with a bit of luck, everything going to hand, even rank half volleys getting smashed to extra cover etc.

but now im on a run of around 8 consecutive drops off my bowling and its starting to do my head in! everyone ive spoken to about it says that sometime soon someones going to take a ridiculous diving catch off my bowling and it will all change... i await the proof!

i feel exactly the same about my batting at the moment. Just cannot get a score, every week i play myself in, then get out in a ridiculous fashion.

Last week a ball down leg side, hits me on the knee roll, pops up onto my glove then drops down onto the stumps, this week i was out LBW to a half tracker that didnt get an inch above the ground... i wasnt playing back really either!

As a bowler I often find when one catch gets dropped it really effects my bowling and the amount of wickets I take. I was bowling brilliantly at the start of my spell on Saturday, had 2 catches dropped in the same over than got smashed around the park. The next day I again was bowling really well, catch dropped and got smashed.

I have learnt that you need to just keep your head up and keep hoping that the next one wont go down. Or you can give up with your fielders and get all of your wickets bowled or lbw. Both tactics work fairly well.

I'm a legspinner and have had around 15 drops and a few missed stumpings, but I still have around 12 wickets. If it wasn't for dropped catches I could've been the clubs leading wicket taker.
