Hypothetical question

you have a bat , thick edges concaved and high spine.. ..lets say Laver Special profile, so a long middle.

we all know new bats take a bit of time to play in . . . .especially Laver bats . .due to the way he makes them.

You have two players

player one. . .front footer. . . .plays in lower end of bat. . ..so performs

Player two . . . .back footer . . .plays in upper part of bat.. . . .so performs

would the following result in a better performing bat . . . .so full face is played in.

you generally get performance from the area you strike most. . . .or has been struck most.

off topic question - how does the process for making a Laver make a difference to initial performance. What do they do that's different to others?

Handle is a massive difference.Ive used a carbocane handle all season and just went back to a regular BAS handle yesterday and there was an obvious smoother and silkier rebound. Sometimes the Laver handle stiffness makes the bat feel unresponsive.

i think with a normal handle you can tell how cleanly youve hit it.

with the carbo cane you cant tell. . . i thought i barely hit one saturday but it went for four on a wet outfield. . . .long boundary too. . . .takes some getting use too. . .. but its supposed to return more energy to the ball.

Its easier to judge a run when you can feel how cleanly you have hit the ball.
