Indians going mad on cricinfo claiming umpire Erasmus is biased towards England due to the number of South African born players in the side.

Can a match go by without the Indians using the R word?

We had the exact same thing happen in one of our matches. Our openers thought it had crossed the boundary and went to the middle for a chat. One of the them was then run out. We didnt have a problem with that at all. It was the batsmans fault, he should not have "presumed" anything.

If the tables were reversed would england have called back an Indian player? I hope so, but I dont know, as I dont recall Collingwood upholding the "spirit of the game" when a collision between sidebottom and a Nz player resulted in a run out

It's an interesting one. My view, really? Bell should have been out. He wasn't paying attention.

There are, however, a number of interesting circumstances. The player fielding the ball acted as though the ball was no longer in play, as did a number of other players on the field. In addition, the umpire could be seen starting to hand  the bowler's jumper back to him, which in every form of cricket, is considered short form for end of over. With this in mind, you can see where the furore comes from, and the right decision was probably made.

As for Collingwood in those circumstances? That was unsporting and shouldn't have been left to stand.

Strauss has withdrawn an appeal in the past under similar circumstances to the collingwood incident. I saw it compared to the Murali run out v NZ a few years back, but in my mind this is different.

in interview later Colly admitted making a mistake in the game you refer too,at the time the NZ batsman should have been recalled after clashing with sidebottom.Colly made the call on the field and it was wrong, the umpires are seen asking him if he wants to withdraw the appeal. Yesterday the Indians appealed for a run out, twice they were asked if they wanted to withdraw, they said no.The way Kumar threw the ball in confused Bell.
Bell was a bit dopey yes but the right decision was made.Thankfully players like Dravid are class on the field and off it,check his interview afterwards.
India has been smashed by a better side over 2 tests so far, this incident should not take away England's performance,we have been superb

I'm actually embarrassed by the way India are playing right now-they're gonna be chasing 450+ and I reckon we'll get bowled out for under 200. Absolutely shocking performance right now.

Sadly, this shows the necessity of building a side with enough bowlers to cover for each other.

India have their number one sidelined (although probably back for the next match) and their spinner (who on this pitch, like ours, is next to useless) out of play due to injury, even though he is still on the pitch.

The field settings and fielding is terrible, and for the best part of 175 runs to go through third man shows complete disregard for the state of the game by the captain.
