As you would know Diabetics eyes are more susceptible to eye damage so they say we should wear eye protection whenever outdoors to limit the suns damage to our blood vessels. I have never been a sunglasses wearer, but I thought I may as well wear them for cricket. I have really good controll and my eyes are perfectly healthy and I have 20/20 vision atm, but that will change as I get older so I should start protecting them now to limit any damage that is associated with Diabetes the older you get, sort of like how moisturizer works it doesn't really do anything now, but it will pay dividends when I get older. Although preventing eye damge is more to do with your hba1c and regular eye check-ups, any extra help is always good.

My point was that I should say they are for my health and get them to pay some so it's less expensive for me, ahah lol.

Reasonable approach, just not something that I've ever heard before, as the sun generally affects the front of the eye!

Even still, our eyes are more sensitive than that of a person without Diabetes and Cataracts are problems for people with Diabetes. Like I said I have really good controll, but I read somewhere that after having Diabetes for 20 years, 60% of people with Diabetes have some sort of eye problems so thought I should start wearing them even if it only helps a tiny bit. I'm up to 13 years this year (got it when I was 6).

Diabetes isn't that bad as long as we control it, but I love it when I read something and look at the people at risk and I always seem to find Diabetes in there, lol.

Yes, I'm 23 years diabetic this year. I've pretty much worn sunnies in the field to combat sun rather than anything else though...

Control is sadly everything, and not enough Diabetics appreciate that.

I haven't really struggled with brightness, but sunnies would help on the cloudless 32 degree days over here.

Exactly, too many think poor me, when it is actually really easy to control and doesnt effect you that much other than the occasional low or high reading. My hba1c is alwyas around 7 and whenever I go in there are always some on between 10 and 12, which is just terrible when it could be controlled. Every time I get my letter to confirm my appointment it always says please confirm as we had a large number of people not turn up for appointments same time last year. 1 check up every 3 months isn't hard.

Yup, get the same thing here. Sounds as though you have a similar level to me, but then if you're vaguely athletic, you should be doing okay.

Oakley's custom service is mysteriously cheap at the moment. Can get Radars with iridium lenses for as little as �72 if you go with the Path shape.

Not for the Store, but when I go on the Oakley website it says O store, plus a few other surf shops which stock Oakleys.
