I have never worn sunglasses for cricket as I sweat alot so the lenses tend to fog up on me, but being a Type 1 Diabetic, I really should be wearing sunnies whilst playing. I will be buying a pair for the upcoming Aus season and I was just wondering what Oakley frames and lenses would be best for cricket?

I don't know anything about sunnies for cricket, so any help would be much appreciated.

I have a pair of Livestrong Oakley Radars mate, they seem to do the job for me.

Haven't worn them much over here in the UK but wear them every week in Australia, easy to pick up the ball in the field with them and they are a really good fit so when you are chasing the ball or running round they don't fall off.

If you didn't necessarily want to shell out on oakley, may I suggest bloc scorpions. I bought a pair off amazon for �26 and they're awesome. Especially for sport. They've got decent lenses, fit brilliantly, and you won't be too disappointed if they break lol.

I've used a variety of pairs of Oakleys for playing cricket. My favourites were a pair of Blue XX ones that provided the most amazing clarity through the lenses.

I think what i'd say is that really the lenses are pretty much the same across the board and you should go with a style that is comfortable and doesn't make you look too much like a k**b (as some Oakleys can do...)!

At the moment I am leaning towards either the Radar Pitch, Radar Path, Radar Range or Radar XL.

I am tempted to go with a custom pair, but that would be pretty expensive, plus I don't know much about which lenses to get.

Lens wise mate get VR28 - I keep in them and can pick up red on green with ease.

yup, get vr28's. You can also get vented lenses which won't steam up so easily

i have no experience with the black iridium, but they sound like a good lense for bright conditions. Will prob cost more though

Here is the thing. Oakleys are not much better than any other half decent sunnies. I've had laods of oakleys some good ones, some that i dont like that much. I had a pair of Flak or Falks or somthing last year, could not find them at the start of the season, so i got a pair of "Sunwise" from the shop at the county ground, 22 quid or somthing. Now i have them both side by side i can see that the sunwise ones are a copy of the oakleys, but i honestly find them MUCH better. Better fit, feel lighter, len's dont steam up, which the oakley tend to.

Long and short of it i'd get down the shop and try some on, even if you them buy them on line... small differances can make a big impact on how you get on with them.

Bonus tip, if like me you feild at slip, test them out in "the postion" as some are better than others, on some the top rim can get in the line of sight.

oakley customer service is superb, and they look after the customers very well. I've tried sunwise too. They definitely do a job, but they don't have as many lense options as oakley. I found their light enhancing lenses good, but imho the oakleys are better in bright conditions. My oakley set up cost about �200, i did feel slightly sick spending the money. 7 years later i think it was well worthwhile.

Yeah the VR28 Black Iridium is $30 more, so I think I will end up going with the custom version so I can pick exactly what I would like. What would be a good second lense? There is only 1 actual Oakley shop within 100 mile radius of my house and that is on the coast (45mins-1hr away), bonus is that they have all the services the online store has except you actualy get to try the glasses on, so I think I will have to go there and try them on so I know exactly what I would like. Don't want to be stuck with something that doesn't suit me.

The money is what sort of turned me off the custom ones, but seeing as it will actualy aid my health more so than most people (due to being a type 1 Diabetic) I think that this will be the way to go. I wonder if I could put a spin on it to my mum and gran that they will be aiding my health and get them to chip in, lol.

Hi mate, I too am diabetic, but I'm not too sure of the health benefits of sunnies in the field?
