My new Hattori 5*
« on: July 29, 2011, 09:59:18 AM »

Woke up today, checked my emails only to see an email from Matt saying my bat was sent yesterday and should be with me today. Immediately I was excited and then noticed the rather bat shaped box in my room which my mum had put there. I eagerly opened the box to reveal the new Hattori.

Specs I asked for:
Low middle
2lb 8oz
Knocking in

What I received:
2lb 8oz
9 grains
Low middle
Little concaving
A very long middle
Edges which are huge for the weight. Around 37/38mm at the largest point.
Tendulkaresque profile

Overall I am extremely happy with what I received. The bat is huge for the weight and responds well off the mallet. Got a game today so shall be testing it out and hoping it goes well! Will update later with how the bat played if I manage to get the ball on bat that is!

Apologies for the poor picture quality as they are from my iPhone but I hope it gives a general idea of the bat.

Tasty mate - I love mine.

Although I probably wouldn't let it loose in a game just yet, would have a few throw downs and give the edges and toe a bit of work with a mallet.

Yeah I reckon I'll see how the throwdowns go today before the game. I paid for the knocking in and oiling so hopefully it is ready to go

Same here mate, Matt knocked in both of mine. I am sure you will be OK - just make sure they are decent balls!

I'm telling you now though, when you have throwdowns you will get excited ;)

Yeah I'll just get a few throwdowns from decent balls see how it pings. Hopefully mate! It responds very well off the mallet. The middle is long too so should be forgiving for a very average player such as myself.

Probably wouldn't be a bad idea! Your excel looks great!
I'm just hoping I adapt to this bat quickly, I'm used to a 2;12 but a persistant shoulder injury means I need a nice light bat.

my excel is 2.12 and is perfect for me. but recently having used the bowling machine at 85mph 2.12 is to heavy and i used fletchers laver and wood @ 2.7 and it was much easier to play the ball

There are only a few weeks of the season left, wouldn't you want to use it before the end?
