Camera in to Somerset Ground
« on: August 08, 2011, 07:49:45 PM »

Hi

Does anyone know whether i would be stopped from taking my camera in to the Somerset Ground ? Its a proper SLR so cant exactly hide it under a coat, I know i cant take it to any premier league footie grounds.

Thanks in Advance

Pete

I can't see why mate. Is it county champ your going to see? If so, we didn't get searched going into the ground.

I think its fine, normally see quite a few SLR's in the ground.  As long as you dont have a Cannon 400mm 2.8f or something equally massive as a lens you should be OK.  Might be worth checking with the ground though if its a big game (i.e sold out).

I've taken a SLR, 500mm lens and tripod into a few grounds recently, Rose Bowl, Grace road and Wantage Road and not had any problems. Just make sure you get there early to get a good spot; long off to a right hander is a good starting point

You'll be fine psincock. I see quite a few of the ahem, older generation with them all the time. Mind you, they might start grumbling about anyone who has a newer camera than an old Olympus OM10!
