Changing style of cuff - how difficult is it?
« on: August 12, 2011, 04:05:09 PM »

Currently I have the SS Dhoni LE keeping gloves (though I prefer to call them Sanga gloves.. ;) ) and I'm thinking of changing to a more traditional style of gloves (perhaps the GM Original gloves as they look mint and are fairly cheap here in Sri Lanka..).

Any keepers out there, have you changed style of glove, and how difficult is it?
Would I be best to leave the change and practice till the end of the season?
I'm thinking yes...

I have changed cuff styles a couple of times and had no issues with it apart from the usual softening up / wearing in so I would say just go for it

there is actually a marked difference as with short cuff gloves you're basically catching every ball and you're looking to cushion the impact with your wrists. with long cuff gloves you're "receiving" the ball and cushioning from your elbows.

you need to work out which style is best for you and then choose a glove accordingly.

I'm with Simmy on this and may take up the oven glove challenge! Only difference is the amount of padding and aesthetics.

Do the Dhoni gloves give you the ability to drop every ball that comes to you?
